“We love basil. We only use Italian basil, with rounded and not serrated leaves. That’s the only way to create a great pesto. You need to keep all ingredients in the refrigerator before making pesto in order to not modify their properties. We normally use a mortar to grind them but you can also whip them up as long as you do it whit little impulses. Then add extra virgin oil, pine nuts, garlic, salt, pepper, pecorino or Parmesan cheese, and pesto can be served.”

“I’m a chef and a sommelier. Eating well is important as well as drinking well, which is why we put a great attention on wines we serve; but most importantly we want our restaurant to be not only a gastronomic reference point but also a place where people from different countries can meet and know other cultures. Every Friday from 6pm we offer a pleasant multicultural aperitif.”

“At lunch you could order a pasta dish with your favourite sauce, then a meat or fish dish with salad, or you can also order something faster like a toast. At dinner you can choose among more sophisticated recipes like: cuttlefish ink risotto with sautéed shrimps and calamari, ginger and seaweed seasoned with lemon, and then the appetizer consisting of red shrimps sautéed with crisp vegetables, Venere rice and wasabi mayonnaise. “ Prices are for all budgets: you can have a toast for 4€ or a cuttlefish ink risotto for 17€. “All ingredients come from organic farming and organic animal husbandry; the most important ingredient is the extra virgin oil deriving from Taggiasche olives which can be bought at the restaurant itself. “ “Why Berlin?” “Because in Berlin there was no Ligurian cuisine yet and we decided to accept the challenge of opening an Italian restaurant specialised in Ligurian cuisine.”
